Things to Do in Hikkaduwa
Hikkaduwa is a popular southwest-coast destination known for its beach environment and marine activities. Learn about the area and consider the relevant weather and sea conditions before planning activities on the water.
Hikkaduwa was Sri Lanka's original beach town, and its coral sanctuary still draws snorkellers to the shallow reef just off the sand. Sea turtles feed close to shore at the northern end of the beach, and further south the breaks bring surfers in season.
It sits between Bentota and Galle, an easy stop on the way down the coast.
